A few times a school year I give my students a copy of this simple house drawing and encourage them to do their best to draw what they see. Sometimes we use a different material or focus on a certain technique. Today's drawing was to be done in only Sharpie to emphasize lines and then finish it with a gray wash. Pretty cool to see how much students improve when they always do their best!
Monday's warm up for art class is the "AlphaBeast," in which students take a letter from the alphabet and transform it in to some king of creature, animal, monster or anything else they can think of. Here are a few of this week's letter "F" creations!
Each month we have a creative or artistic quote that can help inspire us. This month we discussed with Einstein might have meant with his memorable quote about imagination and are exercising our imaginations as much as possible!
Today we spent time learning how to use layers in Sketchbook Express and we worked with our favorite pal "Doug the bug." Check out "peanutizeme.com" and turn yourself into a character like Charlie Brown and friends - here's my Mr. Storm version!
