Inspired by author Maurice Sendak and his classic book, "Where the Wild Things Are" students are making monsters!
Japanese artists created an art technique in which you cut shapes out of a square and flip the shapes to the outside. The term "Notan" refers to the balance between light and dark.
Students have been exploring the MOMA art lab app this week. The app has tons of great activities, cool videos and neat information on modern artists. One activity focuses on the work of artist, Jim Lambie who uses tape to create line designs on floors. Students used similar techniques to design rooms with different colored tape.
